Community Cookbook Project
The Parksville Museum is happy to announce our latest community driven project. Inspired by our archive collection of community cookbooks we are developing one of our own for the oceanside area! This is where you come in, if you have a family recipe or favorite dish you want to share with your community then here is the opportunity to share it!
What are we looking for?
Did your grandmother bake a particularly good batch of brownies? Do you know how to make a carrot cake that’s better than everyone else’s? Do you know the secret to the perfect pasta sauce or the best way to prepare a roast chicken?
If you think now is the time to share your own or your families’ favorite dishes and meals we would be thrilled to have them in our community cookbook! We would also love to include any stories about why you chose to submit your recipe - after all what’s a meal without a good story to tell while eating it!
Submission guidelines
There are three ways that you can submit a recipe for this project:
- Send an email to info@parksvillemuseum.com with your name, what town you live in, the recipe, as well as any anecdotes or stories you want to share in relation to that recipe.
- Drop it off in person and check out the museum while you’re here.
- Fill out this online form.
Submission deadline 5pm July 31.
We'll be selling this cookbook as a fundraiser for the Museum by the fall. Stay tuned!
